Road to March Madness: Villanova Wildcats (25-4) Vs. Seton Hall Pirates (17-6) Game Information
March Madness is almost upon us, and every team that already knows that they will be taking part in the tournament will be looking to finish the regular season strong. Having a strong finish to the season is no guarantee of playoff success, but it is amazing how often we see deep runs from teams who finished the regular season with momentum on their side. A great end to the season is usually a sure sign that a team is putting it all together and playing as a unit. It is perhaps fair to suggest that the #4 ranked Villanova Wildcats are not currently in that category. It’s easy to forget that this is a team that spent a lot of time at #1 this season, as they have been pretty inconsistent over the past couple of weeks. They have 2 regular season games to pull things out, with the next game upcoming against a Seton Hall Pirates team that has put together a 20-win season while booking their ticket to the tournament. This is a potentially entertaining match-up that might well decide the Big East regular season winner.

Why bet on the Villanova Wildcats
The Wildcats are going to head into the tournament with a decent seeding in the bracket, but they will also want to try and win both games this week, as that would give them a shot at landing atop the Big East Conference as regular season champions. They are currently a full game back of Xavier for the top spot and the bad news here is that they have just not been playing well enough to close that gap. A totally unexpected loss to St. John’s a few weeks ago sent this team on a bit of a downward spiral. They are just 3-3 in their last 6 games, which is not the sort of finish you expect to see from a team that is among the favorites to be the national champions. The last meeting with Seton Hall came right before that loss to the Red Storm, and it was a convincing 92-76 win, albeit on home court. The Wildcats are 19-10 ATS and 20-9 O/U this season.
Why bet on the Seton Hall Pirates
It looked for a while as though the Seton Hall Pirates were going to sink like a stone, going through a stretch of games that saw them lose 4 in a row. They have since pulled out of that slump, coming into this one on a modest 3-game winning streak. We mentioned earlier how the Pirates were humbled by Villanova last time out, but that came while they were in the midst of that losing streak, and also while Villanova was #1 and looking totally unbeatable. The tables have turned quite dramatically since then, and Seton Hall is going to like their chances against a Wildcats team that looks a little fragile right now. Seton Hall is always tough to beat in their own building, going 13-2 SU there this season. Overall, they are 13-16 ATS and 18-10 O/U.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
While the Wildcats may not be playing their best basketball of the season, you would still expect them to win this one, regardless of how good the Pirates have been at home.
Predicted Score: Villanova Wildcats 82 Seton Hall Pirates 70.
