College Football Championship: Bulldogs vs Crimson Tide Game Info, Betting Odds
If you do not currently reside in the southern United States and you are a college football fan, you probably do not have a lot of love for the SEC. This has been the dominant conference in college football for a ridiculously long time now, much to the chagrin of fans of the other conferences. There was something of an uproar when two teams from the SEC made it into the playoffs this year, but both won their respective games and will now be playing for a National Championship, which means we will have an SEC winner for the 9th time in 12 years. Conference bias aside, this is a match-up that college football fans will probably love. You have Alabama Crimson Tide, who have become a dynasty in the Nick Saban era going against a Georgia Bulldogs football team coached by former Saban assistant Kirby Smart. In the 11 previous times where a former assistant has gone against his old boss, it has been Saban who has come out on top each time. Can Smart bust that trend and have his Bulldogs beat the betting odds?

Why bet on the Georgia Bulldogs
Last season was something of a bust for the Georgia Bulldogs in the first year of the Kirby Smart regime, but you could not deny that he had made some great moves on the recruitment trail. His first recruits are starting to shine, and with several players deciding to return for their senior year, you got the idea that we might see something special this season.
We got what we expected from the Georgia running game, but we got a real surprise from a true sophomore QB in Jake Fromm, who has become better and more confident with each game he plays. The Georgia defense has also been outstanding, giving up just 18 PPG this season, although that number became somewhat inflated after giving up 48 to the Sooners in a winning effort in the Rose Bowl. The Dawgs may be the underdogs, but they have been money ATS this season, going 10-4. Let’s not forget that they are playing in their home state on Monday night, where they went 7-0 on the season.
Why bet on the Alabama Crimson Tide
There were a lot of people who questioned the inclusion of the Alabama Crimson Tide in the playoffs, especially when you consider that they did not win their division, and therefore did not appear in the SEC Championship Game. This is a team that only had a single loss in the regular season, and that one came against the Auburn Tigers at a time when the Alabama linebackers were decimated by injury.
They deserved the nod and proved it with a stifling defensive performance against the Clemson Tigers in the Sugar Bowl. That win did come at a cost, though, as Anfernee Jennings was hurt and will miss the big game. This team has more than enough talent to fill that gap, though, as they have proven time and again. Alabama went just 6-7 ATS this season, and have a losing record to Georgia, going 3-4 in their last 7 meetings.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
Both of these defenses are simply outstanding, and it may come down to a single great offensive play to decide who wind this one. If that is indeed the case, then it is Georgia who has the guys most likely to make the big play.
