As you would expect this early in the 2018 MLB season, the division races are all still pretty wide open. That said, we are not seeing the teams on top that we expected, with the majority of the top World Series favorites for this season looking up at the leaders in their respective divisions. There are certainly some surprise teams in the mix right now, but we all know that these opening weeks of the season often tend to be more of a feeling out period than anything else. Still, there are some really good MLB Series on tap for the coming weekend, and we are going to take a look at 4 in particular that you might want to pay attention to.
We open a weekend series vs. Colorado tonight at 7:10 p.m. #LGM

Cleveland Indians Vs New York Yankees
These are two teams expected to be in the playoffs come the end of the season, but it has been a tough start for both. The Cleveland Indians are sitting atop the Central Division, although that has as much to do with how weak the other teams are, as 17-14 is currently the worst win-loss record of any division leader in the MLB. The Yankees started slow, but are now on fire, going 9-1 in their last 10 games and coming into this series having just taken 3 of 4 from the World Champion Astros. The Yankees are going to be tough to beat this weekend, and the Indians may just see their lead at the top get reduced a little.
Colorado Rockies Vs New York Mets
These are a pair of teams currently sitting second in their respective divisions and are both looking to edge a little closer to the teams ahead of them. The Mets had the lead in the NL East a few days ago, but a sweep at the hands of the surprising Atlanta Braves has seen them drop back into second, a game and a half off the pace. The Rockies are 4 ½ games back of the Arizona Diamondbacks in the West, and while they are just 5-5 in their last 10, they are on a modest 2-game win streak. The Rockies have saved their best stuff for the road this season, so they could be a good bet here.
Houston Astros Vs Arizona Diamondbacks
The champions head into the desert still reeling after losing 3 of 4 to the Yankees in their previous series. That poor run of form has led to them surrendering the division lead to the LA Angels, although things in the AL West are still incredibly tight. Next up is a visit to the Arizona Diamondbacks, a team that has stormed out of the gate and who deservedly hold a nice lead atop the NL West. The D-Backs did just lose back to back games to the Dodgers, so they will be looking to get back to winning ways this weekend against the champs.
LA Angels Vs Seattle Mariners
As we mentioned earlier, things are incredibly tight in the AL West, with just a half-game separating the 1st place Angels from the 3rd place Mariners. The Angels have essentially been swapping the lead back and forth with the Astros since the start of the season and will be looking to actually open up some distance on the pack with a win in this series. The Mariners are a solid 7-3 in their last 10 games but have been better on the road than at home. They will be looking to remedy that in this series.
