It has quickly become clear that the Boston Red Sox might very well be the team to beat this year, as they look like a group with very few flaws. They pounded the New York Yankees over the weekend, drawing rave reviews and essentially picking up a whole new set of riders on their bandwagon. All of this may prove to be very good news for the Houston Astros. The defending World Series champions are quietly putting together the second-best season in the MLB right now and are probably quite happy that it is the Red Sox who are getting the majority of the headlines. The Astros played an interleague series over the weekend and will have another one to start the week, as they head to San Francisco to face a Giants teams that is still somewhat hanging around the playoff race without really making a big impact. The Astros are closing in on another division crown, and a win in this MLB series would take them that much closer to the title.

MLB SeriesThe highlight of the weekend for many baseball fans was seeing the rematch of last season’s World Series, with the Astros and the Dodgers going head to head. It may be a different year, but the outcome was still the same, with Houston taking 2 of 3, including a 14-0 blowout win on Saturday. The series win over the Dodgers was actually a rather welcome one, as it propelled them to just 4-6 in their last 10 games, although those 4 wins came in the last 5 after a losing skid that we are not used to seeing from this team. It also took Houston to 8-5 in interleague play this season, with this next series being the second time that these two will have hooked up this year. The Astros won both meetings at home, outscoring the Giants by an average of 6 runs per game.

MLB Series Houston Astros Vs San Francisco Giants, Betting Analysis 2

MLB SeriesThe San Francisco Giants are sitting in 4th place in the NL West, 5 games back of the lead, but they are just not doing enough to close that gap. The whole division seems to be struggling right now, with the Giants going just 5-5 in their last 10 games. One of the main issues for the Giants this season has been their inability to generate any sort of meaningful offense. You can’t really expect to mount any sort of series playoff run if you are sitting down in 23rd in the league in runs scored. It doesn’t help that their pitching is in the middle of the pack and not really doing enough to help the offense out. The Giants have the look of a team that are likely going to end up right around .500 at the end of the season.

MLB Series Houston Astros Vs San Francisco Giants, Betting Analysis 4

MLB Series Houston Astros Vs San Francisco Giants, Betting Analysis 3The Astros absolutely pounded the Giants earlier this season, with the bad news for San Francisco being that Houston are even better on the road than at home. I think we are going to see the Astros pick up two more wins on Monday and Tuesday.
