The defending World Series champion Houston Astros head into Monday night’s series opener with a stellar 8-2 record while Minnesota leads the AL Central with a much more modest 4-3 mark after seven games. If you’re looking for both, some fun-filled action – and some winning value, then you probably want to drop a few bucks on Monday and Tuesday’s matchups respective with veteran right-hander Justin Verlander (1-0, 2.31 ERA) looking to improve on his mediocre second start of the season in which he gave up three earned runs in 5.2 innings of a 10-6 win over Baltimore on Tuesday. Ace left-hander Dallas Keuchel (0-1, 3.27 ERA) is looking to do same after limiting the Padres to one earned run in 5.0 innings of 3-2 win over Baltimore on Wednesday.

The Mets are off to a phenomenal start in the Big Apple while the Miami Marlins made big news – by getting blasted off the field in a pitiful 20-1 loss to Philadelphia on Saturday. Fire-balling right-hander Noah Syndergaard (1-0, 5.40 ERA) is looking for a better outing after giving up two earned runs in just four innings of a 4-2 win over Philadelphia on Wednesday while fellow right-hander Jacob deGrom (2-0, 1.54 ERA) is looking to build on his fine start to the season after limiting the Nationals to one earned run on four hits in 6.0 innings of an 8-2 win over the Nats on Thursday.

The most anticipated series of the week will go down when the red-hot Boston Red Sox host a New York Yankees team that is off to a modest 5-5 start after 10 games. New York staff ace right-hander Luis Severino (2-0, 1.38 ERA) will look to continue his impressive start after limiting Tampa Bay to two earned runs on five hits in 7.1 strong innings of a 7-2 win over the Rays on Wednesday while Boston ace southpaw Chris Sale (0-0, 0.82 ERA) will look to continue his masterful start despite not having a win this season after two outings. Sale limited Miami to one earned run on five hits in 5.0 innings of a 4-2 win on Tuesday after tossing six shutout innings against Tampa Bay in his first start of the season on March 29 in Boston’s regular-season opener.

One day later, the Yankees will turn to right-hander Masahiro Tanaka (1-1, 2.92 ERA) who gave up three earned runs in his last start while Boston turns to flame-throwing lefty David Price (1-0. 0.00 ERA) who has not allowed a single run in 14.0 total innings pitched this season over two starts.
