After snatching home-court advantage from the red-hot Philadelphia 76ers by winning Game 2 in the City of Brotherly Love, sure-fire future Hall of Fame shooting guard Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat will look to take a 2-1 series lead when the two championship hopefuls square off in Game 3 of their first-round Eastern Conference playoff matchup on Thursday night. Now, if you’re looking to find out where the value in this matchup lies, then you’ve come to the right place! Let’s get down to business and review all NBA Playoff Betting Odds for this game.

The Philadelphia 76ers will be semi-desperate to get home-court advantage back after falling to Miami 113-103 in Game 2. Miami got a classic performance from Dwyane wade in the series-shifting win as the future Hall of Famer coming off the bench to put up a game-high 28 points on 11 of 16 shooting from the field. Veteran point guard Goran Dragic added 20 points in the win and Joe Johnson chipped in 18 points in a surprising 37-minute performance.

The 36-year-old clearly turned back the clock in Game 2.

“It’s just in my DNA,” Wade said. “I love the stage.”

“I saw moments,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. “That’s what defines Dwyane Wade.”

Wade made his first seven shots of the game and passed Larry Bird for 10th on the NBA’s career postseason scoring list.

“I play the game for these moments,” Wade said.

Philadelphia got a fantastic performance from rookie point guard Ben Simmons as he put up 24 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists while young forward Dario Saric added  23 points in the loss. The Sixers shot a woeful 7-for-36 from three-point distance (19.4%) in the loss one game after blowing Miami off the court in their 130-103 Game 1 series-opening win on Saturday.

“I hate this feeling but maybe it’s a good reminder for everybody for next game to lock in,” Simmons said.

The Sixers will have gifted all-star center Joel Embiid back on the floor for Game 3 after he complained of being held out again in Game 2 with an orbital fracture.

“You need Joel Embiid,” Sixers coach Brett Brown said.

“Joel is a superstar. Of course, we’re missing him offensively, defensively,” Saric said. “He’s a guy who wants to play all the time. I can’t wait for Joel to come back and help us because we’re a better team with him.”

Expert analysis and Prediction

Despite losing Game 2 at home, the Philadelphia 76ers are the younger, fresher, more talented and likely hungrier team in this matchup and I believe they can overcome their youth and inexperience in Game 2 as they get back to their previous identity with Joel Embiid on the floor.

I’m expecting Philly’s all-star center’s presence to open up the floor a bit more for the Sixers perimeter shooters and I believe Embiid could abuse Miami center Hassan Whiteside in this contest.

NBA Playoff Betting Odds Philadelphia 76ers at Miami Heat 3

The 76ers are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up loss, 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games, a blistering 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games overall and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games against their Eastern Conference rivals.

While D-wade and the Heat are 18-5-3 ATS in their last 26 games against a team with a winning straight up record, Miami is also just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games, 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight-up win and 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 2 days rest.

I like Philly’s youth – and hunger – to get it done in Game 3.

Pick: Philadelphia -2
