NHL Finals Betting – Who’s the Pick in Game 1 With Vegas Hosting Washington?
The Vegas Golden Knights have one more series to win to complete what would be the greatest story, not only in NHL history but arguably, all of North American sports history – period. The gritty Washington Capitals are standing in their way and have the look of a team that won’t be easily dispatched when the NHL Finals gets underway with Game 1 on Monday night, If you’re looking to find out who’s the pick when game 1 goes down, then let’s get to it!

The Washington Capitals have had a gritty postseason in beating Columbus in six games – after falling down 0-2 to start their first-round series. The Caps then bounced their nemesis and two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Penguins in six games before finishing off the top-seeded Tampa Bay Lightning in seven tough games while winning Game 7 on the road 4-0 last Wednesday.
Now, captain Alex Ovechkin said his team is focused on the task at hand.
“We’re going (to Vegas) to play hockey, not to pool party and play in a casino,” he told NHL.com. “We’re going there to play hockey and do our thing, and then we’re going to have all the summer and whatever we want to do, we can to do it.”
The Vegas Golden Knights have had the greatest inaugural campaign of an expansion franchise in North American sports history and hit the finals having swept Los Angeles in the first round before dispatching San Jose in six games and then, the elite Winnipeg Jets in five games. The Knights lost game one of their third-round series before ripping off four straight wins to bounce the Jets. The Knights have taken the league by storm and fans everywhere love the, once discounted underdogs.
“It’s crazy how much support we’ve gotten all season here,” Fleury, who can become just the 11th goalie to win four Stanley Cups. “Waiting in line to come into practice Having the wave and chants during practice? Never seen that before. It’s been amazing.”
While Washington has been super surprising this postseason, I’ve got to believe that the Vegas Knights are going to hold it down at home to get off to a 1-0 start in the finals. The Capitals are 2-5 in their last 7 vs. Pacific while the Golden Knights are 4-0 in their last 4 overall. Vegas is also 15-1 in their last 16 home games vs. a team with a winning road record, 7-1 in their last 8 vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and an incendiary 34-12 in their last 46 home games. The Knights win and the Over is the pick, but just barely.
Pick: Vegas 4 Washington 2
