NHL Finals: Washington Capitals Vs Vegas Golden Knights Game 2 Information
At the start of every NHL season, every hockey fan predicts who they think will sin the Stanley Cup. Taking it one step further, they will also pick the two teams they believe will be going head to head to win it all. To say that this final is a surprise is putting things rather mildly. From the Western Conference, you have a team playing their first ever season in the NHL, while the Eastern Conference is represented by a great team that has made a habit of tanking once the postseason rolled around. The Vegas Golden Knights have been the major story of the season, as this ragtag group of players has somehow managed to make it all the way to the Stanley Cup Final, heading into the second game of the series with a 1-0 lead. The Washington Capitals have finally been able to live up to all the hype, but are going to need to find a way to dig out of an early hole after dropping Game 1 in a 6-4 shootout. The Caps will be looking to come away with the split and home-ice advantage after this one. Let’s review all details about what it would be the Game 2 between these two titans for the NHL Finals.

Why bet on the Washington Capitals
This always looked as though it was going to be a series between two teams with contrasting styles, and it was the Caps who lost at their own game in the opener. The Capitals have the two top scorers in the playoffs, with Kuznetzov and Ovechkin combining to score 48 points in their run. The Golden Knights have been a little more reliant on defense during their run, so you would probably be surprised to hear that the Capitals lost game 1 after scoring 4 goals. They were certainly in a position to win heading into the third period, but they gave up 3-straight to surrender a 4-3 lead. The good news is that they probably can’t play any worse on the defensive end of the ice. This series would not be over with a Caps loss, but you still get the sense that they need a win in Game 2.
Why bet on the Vegas Golden Knights
I will be the first to admit that I had Vegas going out early in the postseason. As great as their regular season was, you just felt that their lack of playoff experience would hurt them. That has not been the case, though, as the Golden Knights just seem to be getting stronger as the playoffs progress. It certainly helps that they have a goaltender in Marc Andre Fleury who has won Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins, as he has played a major role in getting his team to this point. Fleury is among the best in the playoffs in save percentage and GAA, and also has the most wins with 14. He is coming off arguably his worst game in the postseason, and the fact that Vegas still won tells you that this may be a team of destiny.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
I think we are going to see a tighter affair in Game 2, and I also think that we are in for a longer series here. That is why I am taking the Caps to even things up.
