Oakland A’s (13-12) at Houston Astros (17-9)

Oakland is on a nice roll heading into Thursday night, having gone 8-2 over their last 10 games while Houston has heated up the last couple of weeks and looks to improve on their 7-3 mark over their last 10. The A’s are in fourth place in the AL West while the defending World Series champs reside atop the division. Ace right-hander Dallas Keuchel (1-3, 3.10 ERA) will look to improve on his slow start this season in the series opener on Friday.

NY Yankees (14-9) at LA Angels (16-9)

The Yankees have won five straight to improve to 8-2 over their last 10 heading into Thursday night while the Halos have struggled a bit in going 4-6 over their previous 10 games. Staff ace right-hander Luis Severino (4-1, 2.32 ERA) takes the mound for New York in the series opener on Friday opposite struggling L.A. southpaw Andrew Heaney (0-1, 9.64 ERA). On Saturday, it’s New York right-hander Masahiro Tanaka (3-2, 4.97 ERA) vs. unbeaten L.A. right-hander Garrett Richards (3-0, 3.46 ERA).
